FOOD AND BEVERAGE The San Clemente Palace features 3 restaurants, located at the island’s most desirable vantage points, that offer tempting Mediterranean cuisine.
Ca’ dei Frati:
Venice à la carte. In the spaces of the old Camaldolese monastery, alongside the Renaissance church, you will find the Ca’ dei Frati, the exclusive gourmet restaurant of the San Clemente Palace. The exquisite delicacies of a refined cuisine d’auteur is complimented by soft lighting, sparkling crystal and crimson and gold finishings. Overlooking the lagoon, it is open for dinner Tuesday to Saturday. It is closed Sundays and Mondays and January, February and March.
Le Maschere:
Traditional Venetian cuisine and carefully selected wines in elegant, modern surroundings. A unique dining experience in a charming setting that features enchanting views of San Marco and the lovely Baroque church of San Clemente. In summer you can also dine outdoors.
Open throughout the year in Winter for lunch and dinner. In summer for dinner only.
La Laguna:
Located in the large, flowery park that surrounds the San Clemente Palace.
Cool and relaxing, La Laguna offers a pleasant view of the swimming pool. Choose from a rich buffet, the grill, an enticing surf and turf menu, and pizzas made in a wood-burning oven. La Laguna restaurant is open in the summer, from June to September.
Gli Arazzi:
With 3 rooms, it offers a sober atmosphere whose elegance is enhanced by 4 genuine tapestries from the Royal Manufactory of Aubusson (France, 18th century). It serves a rich, varied buffet with a wide choice of organic and low-calorie products. When the weather is good, breakfast is also served outdoors. Delights of the taste buds and the fascination of history combine with a good morning in the summer outdoors, right in the ancient cloister of the San Clemente, onto which the rooms of Gli Arazzi look out.
Gli Specchi:
From the hall of the San Clemente Palace, after a series of lounges, you will come to the American-style bar called Gli Specchi; a charming setting where the play of lights and mirrors creates an evocative, magical atmosphere. Here you can enjoy thirst-quenching drinks, cocktails and aromatic coffees, or pamper yourself with refined teas and a rich assortment of fresh pastry. This is also a good spot for a quick snack or salad.
The Gli Specchi American bar is open year round.
Le Conchiglie:
A poolside summer delight, Le Conchiglie is an outdoor bar located in San Clemente Island’s centuries-old park, right next to the sports area with its swimming pool and tennis courts. It is the ideal spot for thirst-quenching drinks, ice-cream, granitas, cocktails and snacks. The Le Conchiglie bar is open in the summer, from June to September.
AREA INFORMATION Minutes from the secluded San Clemente Island lies the world-famous Piazza San Marco, with its Basilica and Palazzo Ducale, Piazzetta dei Leoni, Torre dell’Orologio, Procuratie Vecchie and Nuove, the Campanile and the Museo Correr. Beyond the square, the city’s many delights await, including the Rialto Bridge, the galleries of the Accademia, the palaces Cà Rezzonico and Cà d’Oro, the churches of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, Santa Maria della Salute, Basilica dei Frari and many other marvels.
TRAVEL INFORMATION The island of San Clemente, a pearl of the Venetian lagoon, is situated in a peaceful but strategic spot, right in front of San Marco. The free shuttle service that accompanies the San Clemente Palace’s guests from and to Piazza San Marco follows a fascinating itinerary. Service is assured 24-hours a day; schedule may vary.
