La Locanda Di Orsaria, (15 rooms) description: The building dates back to 16th century and was the residence of a Captain of the Serenissima. Just a step from the Railway station, the hotel is located in a secluded and silent calle, communicating with Lista di Spagna, the main street towards Saint Mark, crowded with people and stores of every kind. A renowned taverna since 1850, the hotel takes the name from the last locandiera who managed it from 1930 to 1980. Today the secular tradition of hospitality is continued by Dello Strologo family: Pietro’s mission is to make you feel at home and to make your holiday unforgettable. Pietro and the staff don’t guarantee you "only" a warm acceptance and impeccable service, but are at your disposal with all advices and suggestions in order you enjoy at the best all that this incredible city can offer.
Locanda: this word, deriving from the Latin verb "locare" which means "to rent", indicates a place where rooms can be rent. In Italian this term identifies a cozy hotel with an informal atmosphere.

AREA INFORMATION Venice is small, but the offer from the artistic, cultural and enogastronomic point of view is extraordinary for quantity and variety; to know it in depth can demand weeks and Peter, who has been living here for generations, will be happy to address you to the discovery of its less known treasures...One of the hotel’s strong points is the short distance from the Railway station (2 minutes walk), and from the car parking of Tronchetto – Piazzale Roma (8 minutes walk). Consequently all problems for luggages transport are greatly reduced. Venice railway station is quiet and safe: no rush of people neither public order problems: nothing can upset your tranquillity. However the hotel is set apart from the main street and for sure you will be not disturbed by people passing or noises. Even if close to the city access points (the railway station and Piazzale Roma) the hotel is already in the heart of Venice. In facts we are in Cannaregio: lively, colorful and fascinating, a little apart from the usual touristic zones, it is the sestriere (town district) that keeps at the best the characteristics of the authentic Venice. The first Ghetto in Europe and its sinagogues, the Madonna dell’Orto Church, Riva della Misericordia, stunning views on the Northern Lagoon, are some of the wonders that you will discover taking a walk along the canals of this little known but charming part of the city.
TRAVEL INFORMATION By train and by car: the hotel is two minutes walk from the railway station and eight from the Piazzale Roma car terminal.
By air: from terminal Marco Polo:
. take car taxi to Piazzale Roma (about 30/35 Eur)
. By public boat service ALILAGUNA (about 5 Eur)
. By public bus: line 5 (about 1 Eur)
. or ATVO shuttle service to Piazzale Roma (about 3 Eur) and the water taxi service (about 80/85 Eur)
